Named in honour of the F6F fighter plane, the "Hellcat” is a design that John Tesoriero (owner of Papa Nui) has been refining since the release of the original “Corsair” cap over a decade ago. Taking inspiration from 1940s-style aviator caps, this rugged hat is deep and balanced through the crown so as not to create a pinch at the top. The visor is 8cm (3 1/4”) long, with a wide, square shape taken directly from the USN caps of the era.
